ABOUT ME:
My name is Michelle Rogers, I am 42 years old, happily married with one child. I have lived on the Central Coast since I was 18 years old before that I lived in Sydney.
My background is as an Aromatherapist and a Beauty and Massage Therapist for the past 26 years. I have also been a Teacher in Beauty Therapy since 2003 to the present day.
I love to teach, perform and receive beauty treatments. My passion for skin products began as a teenager. I started studying Beauty Therapy back in 1990.
I have since loved to make people feel special, relaxed and watch them get results with my beauty services and skincare I have used in the past.
Now I love using my own range of skincare with my services to get the same results, if not better than, the other skincare ranges.
I love feeling healthy, happy and meeting lovely people and like to pass on my knowledge with my students who I teach Beauty Therapy.
I like to walk with my 2 dogs, swimming 2 to 3 times a week, ride my bike when I can, pilates class once a week, yoga daily, catching up with my family and friends, going out for dinner, going to the movies and hanging at home with the family.
ABOUT REAL ESSENCES:
Real Essences is a natural skincare range to balance the mind, body and soul. The Real Essences range suits all skin types and skin conditions from your head to your toes. My products suit all ages and can also be customised to individual needs if someone is allergic to certain ingredients.
I started my business in 2014 with a range of 11 products. I have now grown my business to include a range of 33 products, which I am very proud of.
I started my own business because I am passionate about skincare. In the past I have always worked with cream bases, carrier oils and essential oils when performing aromatherapy massage. I grew tired of looking at the ingredients in many of these skincare ranges I was using at the time as the ingredients were not suited to be used on the body.
I chose this type of business because this has been my passion and industry for a very long time.
My Proudest achievement in business so far is that the word is getting out there about my brand, my customers are so happy that there is so much to choose from in regards to my skincare range. I get feedback constantly from customers saying that they love a particular product, like my deodorant or that they are so happy with the results they are seeing with my serums.
What is unique about my business is that it can be customised to individual needs.
I am currently the only one working within my business. However, on market days I have my lovely daughter helping me out.
In 5 years time my business will be all online sales and also in my very own Beauty Salon. My goal is to also stock my Real Essences range in large Department Stores across Australia.
I would give this one piece of advice to someone who is just starting out:
"Be confident in yourself, have a 'go get them' attitude and keep fighting through it and you will succeed in the end.'"
